Terms of use
The rules for using Half Pan, in plain language.
Last updated October 2, 2026
Using Half Pan
Half Pan is run by Sai Vajaha in Hoover, Alabama. By using this website or the crew app, you agree to these terms. If you set up a kitchen for a business, you're agreeing on that business's behalf and confirming you're allowed to.
It's free
Half Pan is free to use. We may add, change, or remove features, or stop the service. If we ever shut it down, we'll try to give owners time to download their data first.
Your kitchen and keys
Keep the owner key private. Anyone who has it can change settings, publish the kitchen's numbers, or delete the kitchen. We only store a scrambled version of it, so we can't show you a lost key. Share the crew PIN only with your crew, and change it from the Site tab when people leave.
Your data
A kitchen's logs belong to that kitchen. You give Half Pan permission to store and process them to run the app. If you turn on publishing, you license the published numbers to everyone under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. The privacy policy explains exactly what gets stored and shown.
Use it fairly
Don't put anyone's personal information, or anything illegal or offensive, in notes or photos. Don't try to get into a kitchen you don't run, overload the site, or publish numbers you know are false.
Food safety
Half Pan helps you measure waste. It isn't food safety advice, and it doesn't replace your local health code or your company's rules. Follow those first.
Estimates aren't promises
The savings estimate, the national counter, and other figures from outside research are estimates. They aren't financial advice, and every kitchen's results are different. The sources are listed on Sources and credits.
Other people's work
Photos, fonts, and research belong to their owners and are credited on Sources and credits. QDOBA is a trademark of its owner. Half Pan is an independent project and isn't affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Qdoba Restaurant Corporation.
No warranty
Half Pan is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.
Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, Half Pan and the people who run it aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, that come from using the app.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama.
